‍‍`Sick‍‍` war criminal Sayedee brought to Dhaka

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader and convicted war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee was rushed to the capital‍‍`s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from Dhaka Central Jail-1 at Kashimpur after he reported chest pain.

Sayedee was first taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital before being moved.to BSSMMU for better treatment, said Shahjahan, superintendent at the jail.

Deputy Commissioner Abul Fateh Muhammad Shafiqul Islam said quoting doctors that Sayedee has suffered a mild stroke and therefore he has been taken to BSMMU.

Jamaat‍‍`s executive council member Sayedee was indicted on Oct 3, 2011 on 20 counts of war crimes including murder, rape, arson and loot during the nation‍‍`s War of Independence from Pakistan in 1971.

Sayedee was arrested on Jun 29, 2011, in a case filed on charges of hurting religious sentiments. Then he was shown arrested in a case filed on charges of committing crimes against humanity during the country‍‍`s War of Independence.
